I am then able to release these spots with my intuitive healing touch. This type of bodywork is known as energy healing. I also use acupressure points during an energy healing session to help balance your chi and flow of energy.

I was born and raised in the North Bay Area. After enduring a volleyball career ending injury in 2007, I was diagnosed with Chronic Pain and Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. The only form of therapy that brought me relief was massage. I grew to have an intuitive feel for massage therapy. I learned to assist my therapists healing touch by using my breath and mind. This practice is known as focusing your breath or following your breath to where the therapist is working. During trigger point, or tough knotted spots, this method is key to help quicken the healing process. 

After working a desk job for 2 years and experiencing constant pain, which resulted in a need to take consistent days off each month, I knew I had to make a career change. Following leaving a company I had been with for 5 years and grew to love, Playworks Northern California, I experienced a pain free week for the first time in 10 plus years. This pain free week was the result of me putting the time in to care for myself which in turn decreased my stress. Stress in my body is the main culprit of my pain episodes. During this time I discovered how manual massage therapy was one of my main go to self care techniques. I had always enjoyed helping friends find pain relief by massaging them, but thought my Chronic Pain would prevent me from having a career in massage therapy. 

After taking the leap in May 2017 of enrolling in National Holistic School of Massage Therapy, I have had consistent pain free weeks and have found that massage therapy actually helps my chronic pain more than I could have imagined.
